Heavy-Die Forging & Metallurgy Hub

The Varsha Forgings Aurangabad Division is the company's primary metallurgical and heavy closed-die forging facility. Located in MIDC Waluj, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), Maharashtra, this plant has been operational since 1989 and forms the metallurgical backbone of the organization's manufacturing ecosystem.

Unlike precision-machining or assembly-focused facilities, the Aurangabad plant is engineered for primary shape formation of high-strength alloy and carbon steel components. It houses heavy hydraulic press lines, friction drop hammers, an integrated die manufacturing shop, continuous-feed heat treatment furnaces, and a fully equipped metallurgical laboratory. This concentration of heavy forging infrastructure makes it the designated production node for structural automotive, railway, and commercial vehicle forgings ranging from 0.5 kg to 50 kg.

Heavy-Die Forging & Metallurgy Hub

Forging Metallurgy & Material Capability

The Aurangabad facility processes a broad spectrum of medium-carbon, case-hardening, and high-tensile alloy steels. Billet heating is performed using induction furnaces with strict temperature monitoring between 1100°C and 1250°C to ensure proper plasticity without grain growth or excessive surface decarburization.

Press Infrastructure & Die Engineering

The plant's press and hammer infrastructure is configured for high-tonnage, deep-impression closed-die forging of structural automotive and railway components.

Die Design & Simulation

In-House Heat Treatment & Metallurgical Validation

The Aurangabad facility maintains comprehensive in-house heat treatment to ensure uniform microstructure and mechanical properties without outsourcing delays.
